BRAIN SYNDROMES ASSOCIATED WITH CEREBRAL VASCULAR DISORDERS

Abstract

|
Thanks to the recent development of medicine, the human life span is longer than ever. Accordingly the proportion of the aged in total population is also increasing. Various types of cerebrovascular accident and cerebral arteriosclerosis as an aging process have emerged cardinal cause of death as well as important social problem.
As cerebrovascular disorders in the fifth and sixth decades have come to increase of late, which might have been caused by the recent socio-environmental changes, an active development of study of the causes, prompt diagnosis and therapeutic approach, prevention and rehabilitation is desired.
The author briefly describes each characteristic type of cerebrovascular accidents found in each intracranial vessels and additionally explains senile psychosis as a subject of psychiatric interest.
T.I.A. (transient ischemic attacks) which was once called cerebral angiospasms is also discussed.
